Jock McFadyen, born 1950 in Paisley, Scotland, describes himself as a realist, and his intense paintings and prints describe the urban backdrop. As a teenager he attended the Glasgow School of Art and then, after moving to London, Chelsea School of Art. McFadyen has exhibited his work all over the world and has work in many major public and private collections, including Ashmolean Museum, Oxford, British Museum, Tate Gallery, The National Gallery, V&A Museum, Hunterian Art Gallery, Glasgow.

That’s why these paintings are shaped like cheques. Like the windscreens of American cars. Like the space between quotation marks. They’re not much, when you set them against the transient weirdness of this road, this territory. But they’re all we’ve got. And we’re lucky to have them. Iain Sinclair

The picture I had arranged to see was ready for me and staff gave me lots of time to look at it and decide, but I loved it as soon as I saw it. No pressure. Very knowledgeable, friendly staff. I had great advice on framing and protective glass.

Astonishing place. Driving home I realised it was probably the best experience I've ever had in a shop/gallery. I'll be filling my house with their artworks for years to come. A unique place.

Just received my Kang-hyo Lee teacup. In perfect condition. I’m so happy with it and I think the international service offered by Goldmark is superb. The staff are so kind and extremely efficient and professional.
