Sometimes the word 'gallery' simply isn't enough. Yes, it's the core of a business dedicated to the best in painting, printmaking, sculpture and ceramics. But here the books turn into paintings, the paintings turn into films. Watch our short film to find out a bit more about us and what we do.

Born in 1749, William Burgess was an English artist working throughout the latter half of the 18th century. Born to a family living on Maiden Lane, a street famous for housing impoverished artists including the poets Andrew Marvell and Voltaire and for being the birth site of J. M. W. Turner, Burgess was a painter and draughtsman as well as an art teacher.
Burgess showed at the Royal Academy between 1774 and 1811, overlapping in his later years with Turner, whose style and sensibility is similar. He also showed with the Society of Artists and the Free Society of Artists, exhibiting portraits as well as landscapes for which he is more commonly known. Burgess died in 1812. His son would go on to be landscape painter to William IV.
