Sometimes the word 'gallery' simply isn't enough. Yes, it's the core of a business dedicated to the best in painting, printmaking, sculpture and ceramics. But here the books turn into paintings, the paintings turn into films. Watch our short film to find out a bit more about us and what we do.

This England, 1940s

Topolski studied at the Warsaw Academy of Fine Art (1927-32). He came to London in 1935 and was naturalised in 1947. He had worked as a political cartoonist in Poland and came to the fore in Britain for his reportage. He recorded the Blitz, published many sketchbooks and did murals, designs for the theatre and countless illustrations for magazines and newspapers. His flamboyant and sketchy This England, depicting an English crowd and parade with Churchill in the centre, although colourfully symbolic and with a swaggering energy, might have meant little to young children.
