Sometimes the word 'gallery' simply isn't enough. Yes, it's the core of a business dedicated to the best in painting, printmaking, sculpture and ceramics. But here the books turn into paintings, the paintings turn into films. Watch our short film to find out a bit more about us and what we do.

Sid Burnard was born in Brighton in 1948. Introduced to the art of beachcombing by his Romany grandmother, Sid learnt to appreciate the beauty of nature from an early age. His time at Bristol Guild of Applied Arts gave him a profound understanding of visual arts and crafts and allowed him to put his personal vision into practice.
He is now based in Borth near Aberystwyth in Wales, where the flotsam and jetsam from the nearby sea is his only source of materials. Working with found objects, nothing is changed - simply introduced to one another. His driftwood pieces, usually birds, boats or mythical beasts, are full of his passion, integrity and wonderful humour.

'What I can say about "Deep Ocean" is this... Beach-combing after it rains is fascinating, especially on grey pebbles. As they're dried by the sun they lighten. On one such morning I became aware of a small green creature watching me. Its eyes changing colour. It had actually startled me and I felt slightly embarrassed to discover it was the twisted remains of green rope laying perfectly flat on a pebble. I took it home and held it up against different colours. Not wishing to pin it to a board I thought it might stand as it was. I had a few pieces of electrical salvage in the studio including two bulb ends, like I'd used on Andrzej's 'King'. The eyes have it! Zoo-plankton fascinates me. You couldn't imagine such extraordinary creatures. So I selected a couple of choice critters to cluster around this beautiful base.' Hope you approve.
